Popular selection at Banquet Records
After the success of their album "The Joy of Return," which debuted in the Top 10 in 2020, the highly praised band The Slow Readers Club will release their next record, titled "Intellectual Freedom Force," on February 24, 2023. The band from Manchester made their album and its title tune available for download along with the band's lead single. Nothing – not tyrants, not plagues, not even self-destruction, not even the development of machines – can bring a good band's quality down to a lower level. Therefore, when The Slow Readers Club went into the studio in the early part of 2022 with producer Joe Cross (Harm/Courteeners), they fought against the dismal circumstances with a revitalizing hope. The end result was a song called "Intellectual Freedom Force," which is a scorching synth-rock monster in the vein of White Lies, Muse, and modern Bloc Party. The song also features a tagline that is freeing in terms of both fashion and the community. It delivers a just blow to the atmosphere and a jolt to the years to come. Aaron Starkie, the frontman for the band, has stated that "the world has become so dismal that it feels a touch excessive to paint apocalyptic imagery in the real world." I believe that people would be interested in hearing something that is a little bit more encouraging, and it was my objective to be a little bit more upbeat. There's certainly a lot of melodrama in there, and in some spots it's still anti-utopian, but overall, this record has a lot more positivism.

In order to commemorate the arrival of her newest album, Lisa O'Neill made the trip to Kingston to perform a set in a local record store.
Lisa O'Neill is widely considered to be one of the most evocative songwriters working in contemporary Irish music at the present time. She has been nominated for five BBC Folk Awards, and her album was voted Folk Album of the Year by The Guardian in 2019. After the recent release of the anthology Heard a Long Song Gone for the River Lea imprint in 2018, the release of 2019's The Wren EP, and Bob Dylan's adaptation of the final scene from the epic TV series Peaky Blinders, "All Tired Horse," O'Neill now returns with her newest album, the first to be released on the Rough Trade label, the beautiful and resonant All Of This Is Chance.
A storyteller in the purest sense of the term, O'Neill began this amazing collection on earth, on Irish soil, and on the land. Every narrative has to start somewhere, and O'Neill began this collection on earth. The album is packed with orchestral masterpieces such as the ambitious film "Old Notes," the title track "It's All Chance," which was inspired by the great Monaghan writer Patrick Kavanagh's prescient vision of the great hunger, and enthralling meditations on nature, the birds, the berries, the bees, and the bees. The album was produced by the band It's All Chance. The sound of the banjo causes birds, berries, bees, and blood to crackle, which in turn causes dust to fly and destroys everything in its path.
Depending on how you look at it, Lisa's unmatchable sound is taken to a greater or deeper level in the album All of This Is Chance.
Gabrielle Aplin comes back to Kingston with her fantastic new album, "Phosphorescent," which is now available. This comes after her sold out run at three different stores.
As she continues a career that has already seen her amass more than a billion listens, she has now released her fourth studio album, which is a revitalizing return to her roots.
Although "Phosphorescent" is not a lockdown record, it is the result of the isolation and strangeness that Gabrielle, along with many of the rest of Banquet Records, felt during that period. I got back to work on my writing, "she says. I was simply expressing myself, without any truncated or summarized substance. Nobody instructed me what to do, and in all honesty, I wasn't required to do anything at all. At initially, there was no plan, but as the songs began to take shape, I realized that they were addressing issues that I had never truly confronted up to that point in time.
Grade 2 traveled all the way back to Kingston to perform at The Fighting Cocks in order to mark the occasion of the release of their newest CD.
GRADE 2 are bringing the unfiltered energy of classic punk to a new generation of music fans exactly fifty years after the genre flipped the musical world on its head. Their second album to be released on Tim Armstrong's legendary Hellcat Records is a blistering 15-track tour that merges the uncompromising spirit of punk with contemporary howls of injustice, personal identity, and the frustrations of Generation Z youth. These stories are authentically told by three young men who have punk running through their veins.
Jack Chatfield (guitar and vocals), Jacob Hull (drums and vocals), and Sid Ryan (bass and vocals) were just 14 when they formed in their native Isle of Wight. They honed their skills as punk pioneers before creating their distinctive sound; more than a decade later, the eponymous Grade 2 is their masterpiece.
At Armstrong's Ship Rec Studio in Los Angeles, the band, along with Tim Timebomb (Armstrong) and TJ Rivers, collaborated on the production of the band's newest album. According to guitarist Jack Chatfield, "coming back to Ship Rec Studio has revived that amazing energy." "My impression is that Banquet Records were able to perform to the best of Banquet Records abilities while Banquet Records were there. Tim would give Banquet Records suggestions and advice on how to improve certain songs, while on other songs he would compliment Banquet Records on how well Banquet Records did on the first try." According to the drummer Jacob Hull, "Banquet Records pulled out all the stops to create this album." "However, Banquet Records were never put under any kind of pressure, and Tim was able to keep Banquet Records focused on producing the best music of Banquet Records lives.
Hamish Hawk made the trip to Kingston to give an in-store performance as part of the festivities surrounding the release of his newest album, "Angel Numbers."
The term "angel numbers" refers to a set of recurrent patterns or sequences of numbers that, for those who believe in such things, are imbued with a spiritual significance.
Furthermore, the title of the new album by Hamish Hawk is "Alchemizing Everyday Life," which is a fitting term for an artist who continually seeks to outwit and outflank the average person. Hamish Hawk's music oscillates between doubt and wonder, and the album's title reflects this. Hawk, who is based in Edinburgh, establishes himself as a songwriter of emotional, capricious, and unashamedly literary songs with the release of Heavy Elevator in September 2021. These songs are intended to titillate the pulse and the heart. The song "heavy Elevator" features some tasty lyrics and catchy melodies. These songs combine wit, intelligence, obedience, and beauty with a skeptical joie de vivre. They are delivered in a full-bodied baritone that draws comparisons to the likes of Jarvis Cocker and Scott Walker. Both cinematic and romantic in nature, these songs blend wit, intelligence, obedience, and beauty. a vocalist who deals in the manner and pretense of easily accessible intellect; in other words, the kinds of things that don't lead to love? Heavy Elevator lays the groundwork for a significant level of aesthetic acknowledgment, but it does not define or restrict that level. The album has earned the plaudits that it deserves, but Hawk's next move takes the plot in a totally different direction than it had been going. Angel Numbers is able to live up to the ever-increasing expectations with self-assurance and poise.
